Spring Break

This spring break we went to my Moms for the first time in a year. We have been scared to take Addison down to lake since we discovered her horse allergy but she did surprising well. She had one little flair up while we where there. We think that it was while we where inside Mom's house but a bath, change of clothes, and benadryl got her back to normal quickly. My dad took us on a boat ride in the new pontoon boat... it was so much fun! This was toward this end of the trip... you can see Addie didn’t feel we as she got ANTHER ear infection and our trip had to be cut a bit short.

We took our new puppy Molly with us on the trip and she had a great time too!

Where my passy go???

My sweet princess LOVES her Passy but it is not allowed at school and mommy is ready for it to go!! So we have been talking a lot how "big girls" don’t need a Passy and how we should give her passy to the babies, or how the passy fairy can come, or just put it in the trash. To say the least we would always get a negative response from her.
Yesterday in our rush to get Colby to school on time I did not grab a passy for the car ride to school. Addison talked and cried for her passy the whole way... and then it was the first thing she asked for when I picked her up! My response… “I am sorry honey we lost your passy” and she was ok with it for about 30 seconds then she would ask again and again. Then started asking in more detail… where the did the White passy go??? where did the Red one go??? I didn’t think she even paid any attention to the colors! These are the only two we have left which are the ones with her name on them that she has had since she was 3 months old. I want to keep them for sentimental reasons. (is that weird???)
Anyways… throughout the evening she continued to ask for her passy... my reply every single time "I am sorry honey we lost your passy" then I would repeat that about every hour. Now it is bed time… I am thinking man this is going to be HORRIABLE!! Yes she asked for it several times in a row... but she fell asleep quite quickly. One thing that made me laugh... her reply to one of the many "I am sorry honey we lost your Passy" was “ok I suck my thumb like Cloie" it made me laugh out loud because she was grinning at me like she knew better! She amazes me how smart she is at 2! So I am marking last night 3/10/2009 as Addison’s first night EVER to sleep without her Passy since she was born!! WAY TO GO ADDIE!!
She woke up this morning and didn’t even ask for it... she grabbed her silky (her baby blanket that is anther blog) and puppy Todd got her for V-day and we where off to school. Addie sits down with her friend named Ayla and tells her that her passy is gone... So NO more Passy!!!!

What's been going on...

I have kind of been over blogger... I have to admit that, but I am starting to get back into the grove again.
Yesterday it was 86 degree's so Colby was thinking it was warm enough to swim but he was wrong!!! So we settled on the sprinkler and they had a great time!

Not sure why Addie is pouting but I think she looks sweet!

We cleaned out our fishtank and got some new fish.

A new family member

I am here to say that ALL of my hand washing and disinfecting didn’t pay off! Addie got the flu... Colby got the stomach crud… then Addie has respiratory issues and a double ear infection BUT I did manage not to spread the wealth around the house!! We are now into March so PLEASE lets say good bye to cold and flu season??!?!?!??!

On a lighter note:

We got a new family member! I made a spur of the moment purchase!! I adopted a puppy!!! Yep I am now they crazy lady with 3 dogs!!!
Last week we got a new cockapoo puppy named Molly... I think that is just fancy name for a "mutt" but they call them designer dogs! Molly is part cocker spaniel and part poodle. For the most part everyone is adjusting well… Of course all the humans love her!! My four legged babies are doing ok too! Rusty our oldest dog loves her but Jr. our 5 year old pup is being a TOTAL snob! I am not sure if he is confused or if he doesn’t like her! We are really hoping he warms up to her soon... right now he is staying as far away from her as he can! He is very annoyed by her spunk and playfulness!

My wonderful husband received two awards this month! He received the Extra Mile award for 2008, then today they named him as employee of the month!!! Way to go honey!!!! I am so proud of you!!!! He is really one of the most amazing people I know and I am so blessed to have him as my soul mate! We will celebrate our 11 year anv. On the 14th of this month! I have lots of pics I need to get off my camera… so I will add them to my next post!

Meet Molly!!

Come on SPRING!!!

I am so ready for cold and flu season to come to an end!! It seems like everyone I know has a sickness of some sort and that includes the Hensley's! It started for me over a month ago with the sneezing and runny nose… then Addison caught my cold and went right into an upper respiratory infection... breathing treatments, antibiotics and steroids! That brings us today and she is still not 100%. I finally went to the Dr. and got medication Monday and started feeling somewhat normal yesterday!! Colby and Todd are getting that extra vitamin C trying to stay healthy!
So I say COME ON spring!! I am turning into a germaphboe! It is like I am looking at every object in a whole new way.... wait don’t touch that! So thankful for Clorox wipes, Purell hand sanitizer and hand soap!!! I wish we could all hibernate till spring!
I pray that the you and your family are healthy and STAY THAT WAY!! Keep washing those hands!!

Nice Weather...

The weather was so nice this weekend!! We spent a lot if time out doors even with Addie being sick. I took her in today to find out she is sick with an upper respiratory infection. To say the least she has been a bit crabby but for the most part we enjoyed our weekend.

Todd was working Canton this weekend so he was gone 90% of the time. To kill time and energy we went to the Grapevine Biotical Gardens and Grapevine Lake. I am still learning how to use my camera… I still have lots to learn but it sure is fun trying. Here are some pics below.

After that we headed to Sonic for some ice cream. Addie kept saying "No Addie's house" over and over... so we followed the signs to Grapevine Lake. It was really chilly down by the water... the kids threw rocks in the lake for a good 30 mins.

Tomorrow is my sister Angela's B-day.... Happy Birthday Ang! I hope you have ONE AWESOME DAY tomorrow!!

We have today off as schools are closed for ice. Addison is cracking me up and I have to share!
